King Plow Lofts (formerly Blackbear
Brewery) project was a $1.75 million historical renovation of the old Applegate Building.
This project was very tightly controlled in order to obtain historical
tax credits. The front portion was renovated for Blackbear Brewery for manufacturing and
retail purposes. The remaining areas were loft apartments for residential and studio use
for the arts community. The Applegate Building originally was a connection point for horse-drawn
goods to be transferred to rail. The project included significant site work for additional
parking.
